Georgia State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Reaffirmation of accreditation occurs every 10 years, with a fifth year interim report due in-between. GSU is now preparing for reaffirmation in 2019. The reaffirmation process consists of two main components:
- demonstration of compliance with the SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation, and
- preparation of a Quality Enhancement Plan that addressed a focused topic or issue related to enhancing student learning
In addition, the process involves extensive evaluation of compliance by an off-site peer review, an on-site peer review, and the final review by the SACSCOC Board of Trustees.
This site provides information about the reaffirmation process to the GSU community. If you have questions, please contact Dr. Michael Galchinsky, Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness (firstname.lastname@example.org).
