In November 2017, the Reaffirmation Leadership Team chose College to Career: Career Readiness through Everyday Competencies to be the basis of Georgia State University’s next Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The decision was the culmination of a nearly year-long selection process involving the review of 36 initial topic proposals and then three full proposals that were invited for further consideration.
College to Career will contribute to the achievement of the university’s Strategic Plan, which states that Georgia State will “facilitate seamless college to career transitions.” The QEP will affirm this institutional commitment by integrating career preparation into key junctures in the undergraduate experience, starting in the first year and continuing through graduation. It will ensure that students across our campuses are prepared to identify, reflect on, and document their career readiness.
A QEP Development Committee is being formed to translate the original College to Career proposal into a full Quality Enhancement Plan for consideration by SACSCOC. The detailed five-year plan will be presented to a SACSCOC On-Site Review Committee in February 2019, and full implementation will begin in 2020.
